Nike Air Penny II - Black - Varsity Royal - White

Sneakerheads have been asking for this shoe for quite sometime now and finally Nike has brought back the Air Penny II to retail shelves this past week. The entire Penny line is considered to be a classic in some sneakerheads’ eyes but this particular model is even more worshiped than the rest. The Penny II at it’s time was one of the most revolutionary basketball shoes but it also was one of the most fashionable and now iconic basketball models in Nike’s recent history. For Nike Basketball/Penny fans this could be considered the equivalent to a Jordan fanatic’s Air Jordan IV or Air Jordan XI. And if this color doesn’t suit you then you can wait until November for the White, Varsity Royal, and Black colorway to come out. You may remember that colorway as one of the pioneers in All-Star game special colorways as Penny wore that colorway for the 96-97 NBA All-Star game. Rumor has it that Nike will drop a third colorway of this Penny II in another original colorway in early 2009. Photos: Proper
