Nike SB Blazer Custom Series – Grant Taylor

Nike SB Blazer Custom Series – Grant Taylor

Nike SB Blazer Custom Series

The past couple months have been relatively quiet for Nike Skateboarding; a branch of Nike that is well known (and well liked) for their adventurous collaborations and pension for taking an extremely open-minded approach when thinking up inspiration for Nike SB design.  Ingrained in the Nike SB culture is their Custom series, which over the past couple years has allowed well-known skaters to collaborate with Nike SB and add their own touch to classic Nike skate footwear and apparel.  For the 3rd Nike SB Custom Series, four skilled amateur skaters were chosen to design their own sneaker – along with some apparel – based on four different cars used as a skate platform as well as a source of design inspiration.

Using the Nike SB Blazer for his platform, Grant Taylor came up with this clean dark army / green colorway with some unique details to set  the shoe apart from your everyday Blazer.  Taylor’s Nike Blazer is loosely based on  a vehicle that resembles an ice cream truck with Rasta colors on the sides.  The shoe has premium green leather along most of the upper, with dark army suede being used on the toe-box, around the laces and on the heel tab.  A green ant is embroidered on the heel tab and the tag is colored with red, yellow and green to go with the truck.  These Blazers, along with the tee shirt that can be seen after the jump, will be available at Nike Skateboarding retailers this April.
