No school has matched UCLA’s men’s basketball tradition from the 1950s & ’60s, but the UConn women’s program comes closest. In the last 20 years, we’re talking 16 Big East Tournaments, 10 Final Fours and on six different occasions, the lady Huskies have cut down the nets under Geno Auriemma. Connecticut is currently riding a women’s-record 71 game winning streak, and if they can win another NCAA Tourney this April, they’d be in prime position to break the Bruins’ all-time record of 88 in a row early next season.
They’re not looking forward, though, and these new Nike Hyperdunk PEs should keep them firmly rooted in the now. They’re just like the men’s PE, except without all the disappointment.
