The Nike Air Royal was moving along smoothly, minding its own business with the kind of colorways you’d expect from an ’80s basketball-inspired lifestyle sneaker when -BAM- the Macarons Pack came out of the oven and shook things up more than sliced bread. The resulting Air Royal Mid VT has offered some of the more unique looks from Nike Sportswear, courtesy of its Vac Tech molded upper that offers unique blocking possibilities. All of the earlier ones were monochromatic, but with the lines on these merely artifacts of the original design, NSW is free to outline each of the elements for a piped/cel-shaded look. The latest colorway has something of an Un-Grey Toe look about it, with the contrast between Varsity Red, white and Stealth grey dramatically enhanced by the satiny matte finish.
