Argon Dunks

NIKE DUNK LOW WEEK

Prior to the explosion of Dunks thanks to Nike Skateboarding and other collaborations, Japan was responsible for making the Dunk Low a relevant shoe. The mid-80’s basketball shoe turned street-wear powerhouse was insanely popular in the Far East, with the Japan-exclusive City Attack Series of the late 1990’s serving as one of firestarters of Dunk-prominence in the first-half of 2000. Of course, all of these Dunks were mere assemblies of great colors without the need of a superfluous gimmick, with a perfect example being the co.jp release of the ‘Argon’. Prior to the neon sneaker craze, the Argon Dunk was one of the more electrifying sneakers around; the punchy tone of Argon Blue gave the shoe a distinct personality and gave away to other high-contrast colorways that became popular years later. Brand new Argon Dunk Lows are as tough of a find as any, so give the gallery of tonight’s Classics Revisited below a look if you’re not familiar with the shoe, or if you’re looking to re-live one of your personal favorites.
