The adidas Originals City Marathon PT just emerged from the Three Stripes archives after a long hiatus. Turns out the reason we have another chance to enjoy this classic runner is because a former adidas technical director stumbled upon a pair while preparing to move into a new home. Three new colorways will commemorate some of the great marathon cities, each featuring ‘42.195’ branding, which is the number of kilometers equivalent to 26.2 miles. The Berlin edition borrows from the German capital’s blue skies, the Chicago pair uses silver in tribute to the Windy City’s skyscrapers, and New York goes for grey, honoring the Verrazano Bridge that connects Brooklyn and Staten Island.
