There were more ‘Year of the Snake’ sneakers released in 2013 than any other Chinese Zodiac theme ever before (and possibly more than all of the others reaching back to 2002, combined). In this context, it can be easy to lose track of them all, but the New Balance 574 YOTS pack stood out for its four different interpretations of the theme. This year, NB seems to be taking a different route, though this could just be the first of several ‘Year of the Horse’ 574s. It’s done in red suede with the obligatory pony hair hits, and the red, black and gold palette has a natural harmony with the Chinese theme.
