When the adidas Boost technology debuted last year it was touted as a breakthrough on the performance side of things. The lightweight foam treatment that ran along the bottom of the new shoes in question promised a maximum return on energy, and in turn the possibility of a faster run for whoever was lucky enough to be springing around in them. And when the marathon times and testimonials came in, the Boost’s status as a true performer was cemented. But just because Boost started out in that category doesn’t mean it should stay there forever.
The adidas Pure Boost makes that sort of a statement with its lifestyle design. The model brought in members of the design teams for the brand’s Y-3 and Originals division, who worked in unison with their sports performance wing to create the sneaker in question.
