adidas’ brand-wide celebration of the iconic adidas Superstar also includes the skateboarding division, which presents the “Respect Your Roots” pack. The collection contains four versions of the Superstar inspired by skate legends who pioneered the Superstar as a legitimate skate shoe. The shell-toed sneaker, which was perfect for added protection and durability while skating, is done-up in colorways for Kareem Campbell, Joey Bast, Drake Jones and Richard Angelides. Each colorway is featured in premium suede and leather constructions, and comes in three low-tops for Campbell, Jones, and Bast while Angelides gets a mid-top. All four notable wearers of the Superstar also get a special edition t-shirt featuring a vintage shot of each skater wearing the shoe. The collection will initially release with special celebrations in-store March 28th at KAYO in Los Angeles and May 30th at FTC in San Francisco, where parties will feature appearances by all four skaters with archival footage of each shown. With a wider release, the Kareem Campbell and Richard Angelides tribute collections will be available at select retailers on April 3, followed with Drake Jones and Joey Bast on June 1.
