Calvin Johnson’s Latest Signature Borrows from Nike Basketball’s Best

Nike Cj Flyweave Trainer Georgia Peach 01
Football stars getting their own signature shoe is quite the rarity, especially if they’re signed with Nike. Calvin Johnson is one of those unique cases, as he’s onto his third signature in the Nike CJ3 Trainer. The shoe borrows plenty from Nike Basketball’s lineup including that hexagonal air unit on the outsole from the LeBron 12. Nike’s Flyweave technology isn’t quite Flyknit. In fact, it’s more JCRD in terms of the knit construction, and you’ll be seeing a lot more to come considering the material will arrive on the KD 8 later this year. Here, CJ’s third model utilizes both technologies in a minimal, lightweight package while Dynamic Flywire acts as a support system for a lockdown fit. This Georgia Peach flavor nods at Calvin’s Atlanta roots, as accents of Sunset Glow arrive on the outsole, Swoosh, and peach heel graphic for an original take. Stick around after the break for a better view of Calvin Johnson’s latest and let us know if you’re a fan of the use of Flyweave on the silhouette by taking your thoughts to our comments section.
