This Upcoming Nike Kobe 11 Release Remembers Number 8 And 24

Nike Kobe 11 Hyper Grape 8 24 Release Date 01

When it comes time to retire Kobe Bryant’s jersey in the rafters of Staple Center, which number will the Lakers choose, 8 or 24? Mitch Kupchak has been on record saying that they’re considering retiring both numbers, but only time will tell. In the meantime, Nike Basketball is paying homage to early-era Kobe and the number the Black Mamba wore during his prime and second championship run with Paul Gasol and co. with this latest Kobe 11 release. Known as the Nike Kobe 11 “Hyper Grape”, a familiar combination of purple and black come together on the Flyknit base while a unique heel logo features a bold block-letter rendition of “8:24”. An icy outsole finishes things off in premium fashion to contrast the red heel stitching. The whole aesthetic is reminiscent of the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low “Moonwalker”, a colorway that dropped a few seasons ago inspired by Michael Jackson. This Nike Kobe 11 will release on February 27th for $200. Are you a fan of the look? Check out more detailed shots below.
