Packer’s George Costanza’s Gore-Tex Coat Sneaker To Release At Monk’s Cafe

Packer Asics Gore Tex Costanza 11

Packer Shoes is ready to release their next sneaker collaboration loosely inspired by George Costanza’s infamous Gore-Tex jacket. The GEL-Lyte V Gore-Tex features a black and burnt orange upper, mimicking the colorway of George’s obnoxious coat from the  “Dinner Party” episode. The “Scary Cold” moniker also comes from that episode, in which Jerry and the crew describe the blistering temperatures of the day. The Teaneck-based sneaker retailer is also releasing select New Era product as part of the collection, such as Gore-Tex equipped fitted hats.

Packer Shoes will release fifty pairs of the ASICS GEL-Lyte V and a special dust bag at Tom’s Restaurant in the Upper West Side, which played the role of Monk’s Cafe on Seinfeld. Those who purchase a pair will get a complimentary breakfast from the diner. A wider release of the entire “Scary Cold” Collection will release on Saturday, January 28th at noon in-store (Teaneck, Jersey City) and online.
