The Nike Air Footscape NM is one of the strangest running meets trail models in Nike’s retro catalog but is beloved thanks to the signature asymmetrical lacing system, flexible natural motion tooling on the outsole, and a comfort with experimentation that makes the model just flat out weird. It looks like ACNE Studios is a fan of the model, because their new Sofiane Runner definitely takes more than a couple of aesthetic cues from the Footscape. The ACNE Studios Sofiane Runner features the same lacing system, an almost identical toecap, but this time in a premium suede, while the midsole switches things up quite a bit. The major difference here is the somewhat padded neoprene side panels for a more lifestyle-driven look. Our advice: just go with the original.
