Nike Is Releasing Its First Skate Shoe For Women

Nike Sb Women Bruin High First Womens Skate Shoe 1

Responding to the need for a women’s-specific footwear for the ever-growing ranks of amateur and professional female skateboarders across the globe, Nike SB introduces their very first skate shoe designed for women, the Bruin High. Designed with insight from Nike SB team riders Lacey Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Sarah Meurle, and Josie Millard, as well as multiple female skate crews surveyed by Nike, the Bruin High is built with a women’s-specific last. This provides a new, sculpted fit ideal for a woman’s foot that cuts down on foot movement many female skaters found troublesome while wearing men’s skate shoes. This fit is achieved with a more shallow forefoot and tapered heel, as well as a shift from a traditional square pattern on the foot bed to a tri-star pattern that helps the shoe move with the foot more naturally. This new tri-star pattern will also be used in other vulcanized-sole Nike SB models in the future.

Debuting in two simple colorways of black and white suede, the women’s Nike SB Bruin High arrives October 5th on Nike SNKRS, Nike.com, and select Nike SB accounts.
