DTLR Teams Up With New Balance To Create Special Release For St. Jude Children’s Hospital

Dtlr New Balance 530 St Judes Children Hospital 2

Since 2011, sneaker retailer DTLR has devoted one month out of the year to raise funds to donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, generating over $400,000 towards the cause. Just days into their first fundraiser in 2011, DTLR discovered that one of its employees, Tremayne Lipscomb Sr., had a child battling a life-threatening form of blood cancer called Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). It was through their partnership with St. Jude that Tremayne was able to learn more about options to treat his son.

Today, DTLR officially announces a collaboration with New Balance for a special edition sneaker create to further the cause. Featuring a burgundy red colorway inspired by St. Jude logo, this New Balance 530 features gold accents and the hospital’s mission statement of “Finding cures. Saving children.” on the shoelaces.

DTLR will donate all profits from the sale of the New Balance 530 to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital with a maximum total donation of $120,900. The shoes will release in adult and youth sizes on September 29th on DTLR.com.
