Air Jordan 3 “Tinker Hatfield” Inspired By Early Sketch

Jordan Brand has invited select media to a special event in Los Angeles to preview upcoming footwear releases around All-Star Weekend as well as the 30th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 3. Our preview starts with a first look at the Air Jordan 3 “Tinker Hatfield”, a realization of the legendary footwear designer’s early sketch of the Air Jordan 3. Tinker’s original vision for his first Air Jordan shoe did indeed have a swoosh and Nike logos on the upper, but the final product obviously shed the branding for a simpler aesthetic.

The Air Jordan 3 “Tinker Hatfield” is a slight modification of the original “Fire Red” colorway, adding light grey mudguards, black upper midsoles, grey “NIKE” on the medial side, and of course a black swoosh. Tinker’s autograph is emblazoned onto the tongue of as well as the insole, while the famed Nike Air branding returns on the heel.

See a detailed look below and stay tuned for the official release on March 24th.
