First Look At The Pharrell x adidas Tennis Hu v2

Since they first joined forces in 2014, Pharrell and adidas’ wide-reaching partnership has became one of the most fruitful collaborative endeavors in sneakers. From his first “Diamonds and Dollars” Stan Smith collaborations to the highly-desired adidas NMD Hu line to the widely available adidas Tennis Hu, Skateboard P’s carefree, colorful, fun-loving touch has helped push adidas lifestyle footwear in a bold new direction. Now the two collaborative partners are back again with another new silhouette: the adidas Tennis Hu V2, an updated take on last year’s Tennis Hu that has surfaced in both a yellow/grey and a red/grey colorway with woven construction.

Much of the original aesthetic from the first Tennis Hu iteration—like the one piece upper with a high tongue/heel collar and light-weight patterned midsole and outsole—is left intact. However, the shoe also features new detailing: suede panels appear on both the lateral and medial forefoot, and a leather patch around the eyelets adds extra layered texture and style. An official release date has not been announced yet, but the presence of official images indicate they’ll be arriving later this summer or fall on adidas.com. Enjoy a first look at Pharrell’s new shoes below, and let us know if you think the Tennis Hu 2 is better than the original version.
