Nike Revives The Safari “Keep Rippin Stop Slippin” For The Air Max 95

Nike Revives The Safari “Keep Rippin Stop Slippin” For The Air Max 95

Nike’s ability to take past releases and transform their aesthetics into new ideas on different models is undeniably unmatched. The Swoosh brand’s cavernous arsenal would make any other brand quiver in its wake, with its long list of trend-setting silhouettes as well as its iconic collaborations. In 2008, the Swoosh released an Air Max 1 that took clear design cues from the utterly iconic Air Safari 87 sneaker – a model that inspired countless other creations, most notably the atmos x Air Max 1 “Safari”. Of course its overall aesthetic bears a striking resemblance to the pair from ’87, but this eye catching release came equipped with unique details the likes of synthetic black hairs on its upper, “Keep Rippin Stop Slippin” embroidered on its heel, and a whimsical graffiti-style graphic on its outsole.

Now, the Swoosh is taking inspiration from a sneaker, that takes inspiration from another sneaker, to create a brand new Air Max 95. All of the details from that fabled Air Max 1 release are in tact, including the black pony hair, bright orange detailing, safari elements, and that same thought-provoking outsole. In recent years, Safari has propelled itself into one of the most popular patterns Nike has to offer, highlighted by the return of the aforementioned atmos collab as well as the Tinker Hatfield classic, Air Safari. No official release information for the Air Max 95 “Keep Rippin Stop Slippin” is available just yet, but grab an official look below and stay tuned for updates.
