Nike Air Max Penny 1 “Pinstripe” Arrives This Weekend

Penny Hardaway’s Air Foamposite silhouette is undoubtedly one of the most iconic signature sneakers in the illustrious history of the Swoosh brand. Its shimmering shell-equipped upper and its recognizable throat and outsole combination makes it one of the most popular retro Nike hoops models of the early 2000s. While that all may be the case, Penny’s first ever signature sneaker with the Beaverton Brand was the Air Max Penny 1 that made its debut at retailers in 1995 but was popularized among the masses in ’96. In the midst of a resurgent 2018 campaign, the Penny 1 is ready to receive one of its most attractive color schemes yet, Game Royal with Pinstripes.

From a distance, the pin-striping that runs up-and-down this offering’s upper appears to be customary white piping, but upon closer inspection you will find out that it is an all-over “1cent” graphic, a nod to the superstar’s signature logo that also adorns this shoe’s heel. A metallic midfoot Swoosh completes this nostalgic hoops selection off in style that is slated to arrive at Nike.com and other hoops retailers on August 11th.
