adidas Makes Their Own “Kobe Protro” With The Crazy BYW 98

Before Kobe Byrant was teaming up with Nike on one of the most successful and longest running sneaker lines in the history of basketball, he was a member of team adidas and repped the Three Stripes as hard as anyone. One of the the Mamba’s most popular shoes with the German Sportswear brand was undoubtedly the boisterously-deigned adidas KB8 II. In Bryant’s third NBA season, this silhouette debuted with inspiration from the brand’s eye-catching Feet Your Wear series as well as adiPRENE cushioning support. Much like the rest of that FYW series, this Trefoil Brand standout is getting a modernized renovation by way of a new BOOST-equipped construction – devoid of any Bryant affiliation, of course.

In 2018, one of Nike’s most popular new basketball silhouettes has been the updated Kobe 1 Protro. Serving as an updated take on the Black Mamba’s first Swoosh sneaker – with the addition of modern tooling – it set the tone for the newest adidas hoops model you see here. Given a Crazy BYW 98 monicker, its upper is nearly identical to that of the aforementioned KB8 II, while its heel calls upon BOOST cushioning for superior comfort and durability. A simple black and white tumbled leather iteration is set to help debut the newest addition to the Crazy BYW family. Grab a detailed look at the Crazy BYW 98 below and keep it locked for release updates as we have them.
