The Air Jordan 1 Retro High Zip Arrives In Hornets Colors

Inspired by a special strapped-up Air Jordan 1 that Nike made for an injured Michael Jordan before his second NBA season, the Air Jordan 1 High Zip is an interesting take on one of the most classic pieces of footwear ever — that swaps out the standard lacing system for a zipper and inner sleeve. After debuting this summer and rising to notoriety through a Vogue collaboration, the AJ1 High Zip is back again, this time in a Charlotte Hornets-esque combination of colors. The upper is constructed almost entirely of a dark navy tumbled leather, while bright teal accents arrive on the tongue’s Nike Air tab and the sockliner. The shoes also opt for a minimally branded look — with a noticeable absence of any quarter panel swoosh, and a debossed ball and wings logo on the collar that you’ll likely miss if you blink. The look is then completed by a black metal zipper and a navy midsole/outsole. If you’re a fan of these ladies-only AJ1 Zips, they’re available now at the retailers listed below for $150 USD.
