Nike Air Max 97 “Blue Fury” Is Coming Soon

No matter if it’s releasing in classic colorways, being used as 1/2 of a hybrid silhouette, or taking part in the Swoosh’s recent overbranding experimentations, Nike’s Air Max 97 continues to hold a place at the very front of NSW offerings. Now, it’s surfaced in a brand-new “Blue Fury” makeup that combines a classically styled color scheme with extra branded hits for a look that’s both familiar and contemporary at the same time. The upper is dressed almost entirely in a pitch black, combining mesh underlays and swooping nubuck/synthetic overlays for an interesting tonal material contrast. Bold accents arrive via a bright blue Swoosh hit on the midfoot, blue heel tabs with black Air Max branding, and a blue “97” embellishment on the tongue in place of the normal small Swoosh. The look is then completed with a white midsole, black Air Max unit that features blue vintage text branding, and a black outsole. An official release date has not yet been announced for these new 97s, but the existence of official images indicates they’ll hit Nike.com and at select Swoosh Brand stockists in the coming weeks.
