The Nike Air Max 2 Light Retro Returns In Early January

It’s been nearly 25 long years since the Nike Air Max 2 Light first came to stores in 1994-1995. Lauded upon its initial release for its highly technical four-chambered Air Max unit that featured two different pressure systems, the AM2 Light is a cult favorite among long-time Air Max heads the world over, and is a full ounce lighter than the original Air Max 2. Now, the Light’s lengthy hiatus is set to come to an end in 2019, as a striking “University Gold” colorway will be making a triumphant return to market.

A bright yellowish gold mesh serves as the base for the re-worked classic, while the aggressively styled overlays call upon a simple white leather, an interesting design flip of sorts as many shoes opt to feature plain bases with colorful accents. A hot crimson Swoosh then arrives towards the heel to provide extra contrast. Blue accents appear on both the heel and the tongue, and the shoe is completed by a bulbous blue Air Max unit. If you’re looking to add a pair of these classic Air Max to your rotation, you’ll be able to do so when they release on January 11th.
