Ross Dwyer Nike’s forthcoming slate of “Wild West” sneakers is gearing up to be one heck of a ride for Air Max lovers. After a rodeo-ready Air Max 95 was recently revealed, we now have a first look at another addition to the pack: the beloved Air Max 97. Featuring a mix of Western-style materials, colors, and textures, the “Wild West” 97s are nothing if not head-turning. A tan leather mudguard nods to a cowboy’s chaps, while washed blue denim on the upper and midfoot acknowledges well-worn work clothes. A final pop of bold style then arrives via a single stripe of red paisley print — a likely nod to a cowboy’s trusty bandanna — while reflective detailing on the upper’s swooping stripes and the throat ensures low-light visibility.
