The ongoing punk vibes continued through Rei Kawakubo’s COMME des Garcons label as the HOMME Plus runway show revealed a rebellious and petulant style for Fall/Winter 2019. Spotted on the dark catwalk was this uniquely crafted Air Jordan 1 Retro High, completely restructured with a motorcycle boot aesthetic complete with silver studs, an exaggerated ankle strap, and an extended tongue height that fit the goth aesthetic purveyed by the collection. It’s not clear if these were just an SMU made for the show, but the prospects of Jordan Brand collaborating with high fashion labels on the AJ1 would certainly excite fans worldwide.
