adidas Is Bringing Back The Salvation From 1997

The Three Stripes has found success in the lifestyle market over the past few years by modernizing archival ’90s models to create new silhouettes that combine modern-day flair with heritage stylings, like the Yung 1 and the adidas Falcon. Now, another model is set to join the golden age-inspired ranks: the adidas FYW S-97, dressed in a combo of white, navy, and red. Inspired by 1997’s Salvation, the FYW S-97 takes the puffy upper of the Salvation and streamlines it, slimming down the silhouette slightly with a combo of a mesh base and protruding leather overlays. Some OG details are left intact as well: the tongue and lacing system remain largely unchanged, as does the midsole — save for the exclusion of a cartoon character that originally graced the lateral heel, replaced instead by a simple branded hit. Get a first look at the new adidas EQT kicks/the original Salvation below, and expect a release on February 16th at adidas.com and select Consortium stockists worldwide.
