Is A Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Collaboration Coming?

Is A Nike SB x Air Jordan 1 Collaboration Coming?

Although originally designed as a basketball shoe, the Air Jordan 1 was also adopted by skateboarders shortly after its initial release — and the Jumpman is paying homage to the 1’s unique standing in skate culture with a collaborative Nike SB take on MJ’s first signature sneaker. First premiered by Nike SB team member Theotis Beasley, the new skate-ready kicks feature a white base with Lakers-esque rich purple and regal gold accents. They also boasts wear-away detailing similar to the popular Lance Mountain AJ1s, as red trim around the overlays discloses a hidden layer of paint. Although the Jordan 1 is no stranger to SB collabs — the aforementioned Lance Mountain makeups and a black/iridescent green Jordan 1 SB both released in 2014 — this new pair is sure to garner great excitement among skateboarders and sneakerheads alike, due to the continued popularity of the AJ1s and the recent resurgence of Nike SB. Grab a first look at these new Air Jordan 1 SBs above, and stay tuned for further release updates as they’re available.
