The Nike Air Foamposite Doernbecher Returns

The Nike Air Foamposite Doernbecher Returns

In the annals of Nike’s incredible Doernbecher Freestyle initiative, a few of its releases come a bit more highly regarded than the rest, and one of those creations is undoubtedly Elijah Diggins’ Air Foamposite One from November of 2013. Set ablaze in its design, the color scheme of this Challenge Red-equipped Foam comes inspired by Diggins’ Burkitt leukemia condition as well as serving as a nod to his favorite basketball team. Its sockliner furthers his story with a graphic of a silver bracelet gifted to him on his 13th birthday – the same day he was diagnosed with blood cancer – while his signature arrives on a special hangtag alongside a a custom logo that also arrives on this sneaker’s heel as well. Six years since his diagnosis, Elijah is considered to be cancer free, and is a college sophomore studying science and playing baseball. Grab another detailed look at these Doernbecher Foams below and get ready for their return on the Nike SNKRS app in honor of 15 years of Doernbecher Freestyle tomorrow morning at 10am ET via a draw.
