This UA Curry 6 Colorway Pays Homage To Oakland’s Car Culture

The Bay Area’s propensity for automobile love is well-known, and favored son Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors is an automobile enthusiast as well — so Under Armour has drawn from the affection shared by player and city to create a new “Oakland Sideshow” colorway of the UA Curry 6. Although the shoe is inspired by Oakland’s impromptu automotive exhibitions, the makeup it uses is decidedly more San Francisco, combining a black base with orange accents for a Giants-esque color palate. These speedy kicks boast performance to match their looks as well, calling upon a knit upper and a full-length HOVR midsole to let Steph glide past his opponents on the court as smoothly as Oakland’s colorful cars roll down the streets.

The “Oakland Sideshow” Curry 6 retails for $130 USD, and will release at the retailers listed below/the Under Armour Oakland pop-up shop alongside a matching pair of socks March 1st. It’s also unlockable now in NBA 2K19 as part of the “UA Ruin The Game Challenge,” in which the player must defeat a team of 10 Stephen Currys, 2 Dell Currys and a single Seth Curry — as well as breaking Steph’s single-game record of 13 threes made — to access the virtual footwear. Check out the new kicks right here, and stay tuned to our Sneaker Release Dates page for updates on other upcoming Curry 6 colorways as well.
