Comme des Garçons and Nike Tease A Velcro-Fastened Outburst

The many seasonal releases from Nike and Comme Des Garçons are always an adventurous one, with prior iterations taking iconic models far out of their comfort zone. In a similar vein to their chain-adorned Shox, the eclectic atelier is ready to bring velcro straps into the mainstream world of fashion. What ensues is a largely contemporary kit — save for its bolder add-ons — opting for an entirely black palette that harks back to some of the early BLACK label collaborations. Though the focal point remains on the off-trend yet mindfully used velcro straps, the Japanese label has also fixed its model with dark-tinted chains and their bold-faced logo pendant, ornamenting the vamp in avant-garde fashion.
