The David Bowie x Vans Collection Is Set To Release On April 5th

After February’s Led Zeppelin collaboration, Vans is looking to yet another legend of rock and roll for inspiration: they’ve joined forces with the estate of David Bowie for a eight-shoe capsule collection, split between six men’s pairs and two kids pairs. Consisting of a Vans Old Skool, a Vans Era, a Vans SK8-Hi, a Vans Sk8-Hi Platform, a Vans Slip-On 47 V DX, and a Vans Slip-On Classic, each shoe nods to an iconic LP from Bowie’s extensive catalogue with its unique colorway and special embellishments.

The Old Skool calls upon the lightning bolt from Aladdin Sane, blue polka dots and the signature scrawl from Space Era adorn the Era, Ziggy Stardust’s lightning bolt and typeface grace the Sk8-Hi, red patent leather acknowledges Ziggy Stardust in a different way on the Sk8-Hi Platform 2.0, Hunky Dory’s mustard yellow embellishments and font appear on the Slip-On 47 V, and Blackstar — Bowie’s final album before his passing — is acknowledged by a large vinyl star on the Slip-On Classic. Timeless Vans accents like checkerboard patterns, red heel badges, and dark gum outsoles are also prevalent throughout to lock in the co-branded look. The collection also gives pint-size Bowie fans a chance to get in on the fun, with the checkerboard Sk8-Hi and colorful Old Skool also appearing in small sizes. An extensive capsule collection of apparel is present as well, including matching t-shirts, hats, and more. Footwear prices range from $65 to $80 USD, and the entire collection is set to roll out during the month of April, beginning on the 5th. Check out all eight below, and also be sure to peruse our retailer list to see where you can secure your favorite pair(s).
