The Nike Air Max Plus “Palm Pack” Is Available Now

Although the Air Max Plus was made famous by the streets, it’s a shoe that was in fact inspired by the beach, and Nike is taking the Plus’s insight a touch further with this new two-shoe “Palm Pack.” Designer Sean McDowell first conceptualized the shoe’s wavy plastic overlays while watching the palm trees sway in the evening breeze during a vacation in Florida, so a printed palm tree graphic appears on the upper of each sneaker. One pair offers a light greyish-green color while the other combines multiple shades of blue for a darker palette, but each features metallic silver overlays, a white midsole, and correspondingly colored cushioning units. However, if you look a little bit closer, you’ll see that each heel Air Max pod also uses a combo of red and orange on the medial side, a cheeky nod to the original “Sunset” colorway that helped kick things off all the way back in 1998. If you’re digging this clever homage to a true classic, need a fresh pair for the summer, or are simply a proponent of palm trees, both pairs are available now at the links below for $160 USD.
