Dennis Smith Jr.’s UA Anatomix Spawn Is Inspired By Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero

Dennis Smith Jr. of the New York Knicks is cold as ice when he’s on the court. Due to his unflappable calm, chill-inducing athleticism, and authoritative presence as a floor general, it should come as no surprise that his favorite Mortal Kombat character is none other than the lethal Sub-Zero. Now, rising point guard and dangerous Lin Kuei assassin are coming together for a Smith Jr.-created UA Anatomix Spawn “Sub-Zero.” The shoe’s chilly mix of blue tones nod both to Sub-Zero’s signature frigid color palette and masterful manipulation of ice, while further frosty detailing arrives on the midsole, outsole, and midfoot to lock in the look. Special Mortal Kombat logos also appear on the insole, tongue tab, and lace tips, completing the fusion of worlds. Smith’s new PEs will release on April 26th via UA.com, and LA-based fans will also be able to attend a special-pop up at BAIT ahead of the launch on April 24th. Check out the new kicks below, and stay tuned to our Sneaker Release Dates page for updates on other upcoming basketball footwear as well.
