Fresh off their jewelry-adorned Nike Shox TL, the ever-eccentric Comme des Garcons institution is setting its eyes on one of Beaverton’s most coveted of icons: the Air Max 95. Holding true to the often subtle modifications sprawled across a lengthy history of prior collaborations, the newest show piece — which took part in the runway shows of Spring/Summer ’20 — fits perfectly within a mold of reserved aggression. Its likeness retains a loose semblance to the original, though the DIY touches add an allure of the Japanese label’s brand of high-end; fabrications extend passed their usual ending points with exposed foam rearing its head in deconstruction and additional bulk. Multiple colorways are set to arrive on January 18th, with a Triple Black, Triple White in order.
