Giannis Antetokounmpo Debuts Nike Zoom Freak 1 “Alphabet Soup” PEs

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nike have grand plans for the Zoom Freak 1, and after two colorways — the “All Bros” and “Black/White” — recently debuted, we now have a look at the most wild makeup yet: an all-over print PE iteration that’s been dubbed the “Alphabet Soup.” The Greek Freak himself premiered a blue-accented version (pictured below) of the new style when he pulled up to LA’s famed Drew League to take in a game, and later headed to his own Instagram to premier a red version (pictured above). The design is inspired by Giannis’s difficult-to-say name, which lead to an “Alphabet Soup” nickname in his childhood, an “Alphabet Man” nickname among NBA fans based in China, and features the letters that make up the affable forward’s entire name splashed across the upper in multiple sizes and colors. The blue-Swooshed pair acknowledges Greece, while the red-accented pair provides a nod to Giannis’s recently-received MVP award. Each is then completed by traditional heel branding and speckled detailing on the midsole. Enjoy a look at both here, and stay tuned for info on a potential release as it’s available.
