Teased just yesterday by Giannis himself, the Nike Zoom Freak 1 “Coming To America” seems to be a part of a much larger picture — namely, Paramount Pictures. As an official collaboration with the film giant, the athlete is set to honor the film of the same name, one of his favorites. Its likeness is modeled after the main protagonist Prince Akeem whose luxurious attire strikes in prints animalistic and gold-adorned metallics, making way onto the piece of kit though this time much more subtly. Cheetah prints sit underneath a lining of mesh fabrication with velvets and chenille further accenting the pair with on-theme notes. This then extends deep into the accompanying range of apparel whose detailing follows suit in gold and black with the cap spelling out “FREAK” quite unabashedly.
