During the peak of the runner craze lied Ronnie Fieg and his many ASICS collaborations; while many pairs have fallen into just slight obscurity, the Japanese imprint is glad to welcome back the KITH founder with his return being marked by a quite colorful GEL-Kayano 5 dubbed affectionately as “Oasis.” As is custom, the duo are incorporating matching apparel to go along with the theme, though their simplistic logo lock-ups steal no shine from the brightly hinted silhouette. Dressed up in a make-up akin to retro sportswear, the pair opts for a largely neutral base of white throughout its mesh and leather constructions; smaller notes of ocean blue sit throughout from the tongue to the midsole with red and yellow detailing accenting the profile tiger logo and lining, respectively. “FIEG” embroiders onto the rear panelling as a strong call to one of the most notable collaborators in ASICS history.
