Nike’s New Zoom Rise Basketball Shoe Boasts Visible Zoom Forefoot Cushioning

Nike’s New Zoom Rise Basketball Shoe Boasts Visible Zoom Forefoot Cushioning

Nike’s team basketball line is set to begin a fresh chapter in 2019, and one of the silhouettes that’s helping turn the page is the new Nike Zoom Rise. With a textured high-cut knit upper and athletic shape, the Zoom Rise appears to be somewhat of a Nike Alphadunk takedown, much in the same way the Nike Hyperrev played a perfect foil to the Nike Hyperdunk line in years past. However, it’s still very much its own unique design. Upon first glance, two main details stand out: one of the branded variety, the other of the performance variety. The most noticeable branded hit is the large Swoosh that originates on the toebox before swooping all the way up to the medial midfoot, coming to rest alongside the asymmetrical lacing system. Meanwhile, a large visible Zoom Air bag is placed directly under the forefoot for snappy and responsive court feel. Other details are then provided by a textured heel overlay, flight-style detailing on one of the eyestays, and large heel/collar pull tabs for easy on/easy off. The fresh hoops sneaker has appeared in a retro Mariners-esque combo of black, teal, and white plus a sporty white/red/grey with a bold neon yellow sockliner, and will likely release on Nike.com this summer or fall, just in time for the start of basketball season. Take a look at both new colorways directly below, and stay tuned to our Sneaker Release Dates page for further updates as they’re available.
