The adidas Munchen For Oktoberfest Is A Beer Lover’s Dream

The adidas Munchen For Oktoberfest Is A Beer Lover’s Dream

Germany’s annual Oktoberfest is the world’s foremost celebration of all things beer, and adidas Originals has prepared the perfect shoes for 2019’s festivities: a spill-resistant take on the Munchen. Serving as a follow-up to a 2017 Oktoberfest-themed adidas Munchen release and dubbed the “Made In Germany,” these bold brown sneakers are inspired by traditional lederhosen, and feature a full leather upper. A rich ale brown serves as the base color while accents are provided by lighter hues on the midfoot stripes, tongue and heel. “Prost” (German for “Cheers) is stamped on the lateral side in gold foil, taking the place of the shoe’s standard branding, and embroidered pretzel graphics give the heel a little extra flair as well. The look is certainly appropriate for the suds-filled celebrations, but the tech is even more so: the upper is treated with liquid-repelling DPR, so any beer or accidently-projected bodily fluids will roll right off. The shoe is set to release on September 14th via adidas.com and select retailers like BSTN, and there’s also a light tan colorway that’ll be an adidas exclusive. Check out images below, and be sure to scoop yourself a pair on release day if you’re planning on heading to Oktoberfest this fall.
