The Nike Air Barrage Mid Is Returning In OG Navy And Gold

First worn by the great Marshall Faulk back in 1995, Nike’s Air Barrage Mid made an unexpected but extremely welcome return earlier this year, and now with football season in full swing it’s set to keep things rolling with the reintroduction of the OG white/navy/gold colorway. This original LA/Saint Louis Rams makeup puts its heavily-layered design front and center, equipping a combo of white mesh and leather that’s quickly accented by a multitude of navy blue hits and trim, with just enough regal gold/stark black accents as well. The Barrage boasts bold branding everywhere you look too: a duo of Swooshes — one sparkly, one subtle — appear in close proximity on the midfoot strap/overlays, “Air” is spelled out across the sizeable midsole, and even more Swoosh-ed hits grace the toebox, tongue, heel, and medial midfoot.

Although Faulk is mostly known for his time with the Rams, he was actually a member of the Indianapolis Colts when the silhouette first debuted, meaning that this colorway just might have foresaw something the rest of the world didn’t. Once a high-performance turf trainer, the Barrage Mid is now a compellingly chunky casual sneaker, and it’s set to return to Nike.com for $150 USD later this fall.
