Gore-Tex Continues Its Hold On Winter Sneakers With The adidas NMD R1

Swapping back and forth from label to label, Gore-Tex fabrics have become a mainstay within the sneaker market itself, affixing itself to ASICS, Nike, and adidas over and over. With much more on the horizon for all of the mentioned, it’s fitting to see the technical, city exploration inspired NMD R1 take on the enduring material instead of its standard Primeknit or mesh outfit. Black dyed with grey taped accents sprawled above, the Three Stripes logos themselves as well as the overlaid supports create a look mostly familiar for the pair while white Boost stays largely ordinary towards the front and painted dark towards the heel with bright yellow “GORE-TEX” type laid out right above.
