ASICS Continues Its Running Revival With The GEL-1090 From 2004

Rivaling that of New Balance for the hottest dad shoe, ASICS has been on a roll with its latest round of releases, celebrating the upcoming anniversary of Onitsuka Tiger with Japanese label sulvam in hand while also ushering back in some of their retro classics. The upcoming GEL-1090 is just that, though coming from a year slightly more recent than pairs like the Kayano 5. Silver metallics are ripe with the performance ethos of the past decade, outfitting many of its outwards layers — toe caps, heel wraps, etc. — and then transitioning over to bright white neutrals along the walls of the midsole and the inner layer’s mesh fabrics. Gradient prints akin to a sunshine theme see to the tiger stripes right along the side, a small dose of color that can also be found on the bottom’s heel as well. Grab a detailed look at these right here, and if you’re looking to relive some of the Japanese brand’s history, then prepare for their release on November 21st.
