Supreme Enters New Category With Upcoming Nike Air Cross Trainer 3 Low Collaboration

With all of Nike’s more coveted retro silhouettes already under its belt, Supreme has relied more on obscure models for their seasonal collaborations, bringing silhouettes like the Air Max 95 Lux, Air Force II Low, and others to the limelight. For Spring 2020, they’re entering the cross-training realm as we get a first look at their spin on the Air Cross Trainer III Low, a mid-tier option that hit stores in the early 1990s. This archival pair utilized a similar sole tooling as the Air Trainer SC High, a sneaker connected to dual-sport athlete Bo Jackson, but the design was fairly low-tech for the era as Nike began to transition heavily into visible Air Max cushioning. This premium iteration by the skate/luxury label sees the shoe built with leather uppers with perforated panels at the toe-box, quarter, and mid-panel, while the shop’s signature logo is emblazoned onto the heel. The colorways also lend itself to the high-end mood, with comparisons to Italian fashion house Gucci, a muse of Supreme’s on several occasions, likely to be made. This collaboration is poised to drop during the upcoming SS20 season; stay tuned for more updates as we approach the new year.
