The Thanksgiving holiday is all about unwavering tradition, and one of those annual staples that won’t budge any time soon is mid-day football with the Lions. They’ll suit up once again during the holiday afternoon against the Bears, and Nike has something in the works that possibly aligns with the big game. A limited edition run of the Zoom Turf Jet ’97 will release, replete with ephemera from Barry Sanders’ playing days; on the straps are the NFL franchise’s classic logo and the arguable GOAT running back’s jersey number, while his signature can be spotted embedded in he jewel pieces on the heel. Furthermore, only 2,053 pairs are releasing as a nod to Barry’s all-time record for rushing yards in a single season. 250 pairs will first be available at the Lions team shop, while the remainder will be available on Nike.com on Thanksgiving day at 12:30 PM ET, which is the scheduled kick-off of tomorrow’s Lions/Bears game.
