Nike Pushes The Air Force 1 “Snakeskin” Movement With Two Distinct Textures

The classic Nike Air Force 1 has been drawn up with a wide variety of materialized accents this year including that of removable uppers, lace shrouds, flight jacket themes, and liquid metals. But if there’s one thing to point out about the iconic ’82 silhouette, it’s that it’s had plenty of fun dressing up in snakeskin, as a boatload of renditions both in-line and collaborative such as Olivia Kim’s take have emerged on the market this year. However, this latest offering to come out of the Beaverton design studio has decided to switch up the reptilian pattern a little differently by choosing to focus more so on its textural appearance. Two distinct skins of the slithery creatures alternate amongst the upper constructions with the overlays taking on a thicker, more exaggerated look, while the mid-foot panels and toe boxes arriving with a smoother and smaller scaled approach. The former arrives painted in an almost clay-like hue, while the latter opts for a more muted brown color-blocking perhaps nodding to some of its species’ desert habitats. Stay tuned as we receive more info on its official release on Nike.com in the coming weeks, and enjoy a closer look here below in the meantime.
