For anyone who’s ditched the bicep curls for the burpees, Nike has a new solution for you: the Air Zoom SuperRep. The rise of fitness classes and in-home workout equipment (i.e. Peloton bike, Mirror mirror) has further increased the demand for a proper footwear solution among folks who spin, kettlebell swing, and burpee with high-intensity and the Swoosh’s upcoming fitness-oriented model is tailored for all of the above (and more).

The newly unveiled silhouette sports a breathable mesh upper designed with slip-on capabilities by way of a Huarache-like collar. Although the shoe’s top construction – debuting in a “Blue Void” colorway – has been reinforced via ridges made into it, the forthcoming shoe’s most innovative feature is perhaps the partitioned cushioning unit. Made up of two Zoom Air units at the forefoot and Cushlon foam at the heel, the SuperRep’s divided sole may turn potential customers away, but its performance benefits outweigh the peculiar design given that the former intends to provide responsiveness when jumping and the latter impact-absorption from high-intensity reps or cushion when lifting.

If you’re interested in trying out Beaverton’s proposal for the future of exercise footwear, you’ll be able to find them on Nike.com on January 2nd, 2020. For now, enjoy official images of the SuperRep below.

Updated [02/24/20]: The Nike Zoom SuperRep is available in new colorways.
