On-Foot Look At The sacai x Nike LDWaffle “Black Nylon”

On-Foot Look At The sacai x Nike LDWaffle “Black Nylon”

After co-creating arguably one of the best sneakers of 2019 (landing at #30 on our 100 Best Sneakers Of The Decade list), sacai and Nike seem ready to bring fans a “Black Nylon” LDWaffle in the first half of 2020. Sitting atop the namesake patterned outsole, this upcoming pair’s uppers exchange original vibrant colored mesh for sturdier nylon construction in a tonal black. Mudguards also follow suit as they’ve been redone using a plush leather sure to add extra durability to the Frankenstein-ed silhouette. Elsewhere on the shoe, the once-prominent suede material only appears as an accent around the lace guards, heel and toe panels, as well as underlying Swoosh branding – which isn’t warped on this pair – creating a much smarter aesthetic.

No official release date is yet known for this tweaked-version of Chitose Abe’s chunky Nike shoe, but you can expect more details to rollout in the coming weeks. For now, grab an on-foot look at the sacai x Nike LDWaffle “Black Nylon” here below.

UPDATE (2/27/2020):
As informed by certain retailers, it looks like the release of the two upcoming sacai x Nike LDWaffles is set for early this March.
