The Nike LeBron 17 Low Debuts With “Tune Squad” Colorway From Space Jam

With LeBron taking the leading role of Space Jam 2, Nike has, fittingly, decided to employ many a reference for this year’s coming All-Star Weekend, either adapting the colors of the rivaling Monstars team or paying homage to the great Bugs Bunny as seen here on the inaugural LeBron 17 Low. Dubbed the “Tune Squad,” the pair makes a perfect protagonist to the two-part series as it contrasts that of the aforementioned’s mostly black-adorned scheme as well as its generally imposing shape. Slimmed down by a wide margin, the upper takes on a relatively ordinary assortment of materials: mesh outfits the upper’s top half, mudguards equip with smooth leathers, and the sole affixes with a signature air bubble. Colors and themes, however, are amped up to a more playful level as swooshes affix with faux bunny fur and the inner tongue embellishes with “What’s Up Doc?” in overt reference to the Looney Tunes character. Elsewhere, the insole sprawls with the recognizable title card and colors break up the neutrals with red and blue; some accents such as the laces preferring asymmetry and adjacent accents — the outline of the check, the midsole foxing, and even the heel-placed air bubble — opting for mostly singular coloring. Grab a detailed look at these right here and expect a release to hit Nike.com and select shops on February 15th.
