The Nike Air Max 90 ACG Pays Homage To The Air Escape

Nike continues the archival references on its Air Max 90 as a recently-surfaced “Chlorophyll” nod to the Air Trainer 1 is joined by an homage to the ACG Air Escape.

Clad in a brown, teal and purple, uppers on this Air Max 90 are constructed with outdoors-friendly leather and ripstop nylon in true All Conditions Gear fashion. Tan wraps around the toe and goes up the sidewalls, but is given a lot less real estate to cover than on its ’90s mid-top muse. Original teal and purple accents emerge on the AM90, which turns 30 this year, each claiming their own rubber eyestay. The regal hue only reappears on subtly-striped profile Swooshes, while the aqua-color also animates branding at the midfoot, tongue and heel. Midnight Navy mudguards, just like signature Air unit-enclosing cassettes and waffle outsoles, tone down the aforementioned flair, but as has become typical of ACG-inspired lifestyle and sportswear models, the Hike Nike Man hangtag playfully rounds out this tribute to The Swoosh’s past adventure-driven endeavors.

No release information is yet known for this Air Max 90, but pairs are likely hitting Nike.com and select retailers as Spring inches closer. For now, enjoy a closer look at the shoes here below.
