The Nike Air Max 97 Gets Covered In Full Iridescence

The Nike Air Max 97 isn’t celebrating a milestone year like its Air Max 90 and Air Max 95 counterparts, but it’s still dressing up in playful outfits for 2020.

Recently spotted with vintage “nike” dubraes and in all-over, C-3PO-approved gold, the ’97 runner now adds polka-dots and sequin to its roster. These embellishments, however, take a backseat to iridescent overlays stacked throughout the upper and tongue. And though divergent, the attention-grabbing accents are unified with their general “White” palette; mudguards and vamp overlays feature a slight “Spangle” shimmer. Laces follow suit in their colorless arrangement, but contribute to the whimsical affair via their satin ribbon styling. Underneath, midsoles forgo any pizzazz, but do give their visible Air units an off-white tint. Outsoles round out the ritzy ensemble in a quartz crystal-like finish.
